Testing by Dow Corning has shown that a wet-glazing method provides a superior leak protection and longer life than dry (vinyl) glazing methods. Both methods are offered and illustrated below.

• The faces of the joints are continuously welded.

In the event that moisture does penetrate the exterior side of the frame, or condensation develops within the frame members:

• The inverted stop (glazing pocket) design prevents water from passing from exterior to interior.
• At horizontal mullions, the recessed glazin pockets fit tightly together
• Water will flow down the exterior rabbet of the frame, but can not penetrate to the interior
• The sill is equipped with a sloped "drip pan" flashing that directs the water back to the exterior side
